The Vision

The vision for Coed Darcy is to use the remarkable topography of the existing site to deliver a new sustainable community where people have access to everyday facilities in order to live, work, learn and relax.

Spanning more than 1,000 acres, Coed Darcy is comfortably twice the size of the London Olympic Park, making it one of the most significant regeneration projects currently underway in Wales.

Currently being developed by landowner St. Modwen, this community will help contribute to the wider regeneration of a large part of South Wales over the next 20-25 years through the development of:

  • 4,000 homes
  • Four schools (one secondary and three primary)
  • District centre with community facilities including a library, community hall, youth centre and doctors surgery
  • Green open spaces, play spaces and sports facilities
  • 500,000 square feet of employment space

St. Modwen is working in partnership with Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council and the Prince's Foundation for the Built Environment to deliver this vision for the site.
